Alfajores - South American Shortbread Cookies
Alfajores are a South American shortbread cookie, traditionally filled with Dulce de Leche (Milk Caramel). The Alfajor originated in Andalusia, Spain during the Moorish Conquest of the Iberian Peninsula and has many cousins in Latin America specially Peru and Argentina.
All of our Alfajores come in traditional style (covered in powder sugar) or chocolate covered. In addition we offer three sizes: Standard, Bite Size, and Gigante (Giant). The Standard size cookie is 2 inches in diameter, the bite size is 1.25 inches in diameter, and the Gigante is over 3 inches in diameter.
